Raleigh Art Classes for beginners and advanced adults. Learn to paint Classical Academic Style paintings, portraits, and still lifes. Learn to paint Verdaccio Underpaintings with Tinted Bonded Marble (Frank Covino's Gesso), and learn to superimpose colored oils over your underpainting as they did in the Renaissance. Learn paint history, art history, color application, and Fibonacci's Golden Mean Ratio for Composition. Learn to create significant art.
Classes are $250 for each 12 hours of instruction, or $2400 for 144 hours over 12 months for serious artists that includes; studio time, critiques, and guidance. Learn to market your work and develop clients. Learn to exhibit your work, use photoshop to create the best compostitions, and build a web presence. Children 4-17 $200 for each 12 hours.

Agreement for 12 Month or 144 hours, Classical-Academic-Art,
Training Program, with Rhonda Myers
Cost: $2,400 payable to Cary Fine Arts
The Training Program consist of the following; A description of Fibonacci Ratio/Golden Mean, as it pertains to creating Significant Art. Composition, Value, Hue, Texture, Line, Shape, used to create Unity in a painting.
- Project 1: Charcoal Drawing of Three Pears, using a grid.
- Project 2: Acrylic Freehand Painting of the same subject.
- Project 3: 16x20 painting on canvas using Tinted Bonded-Marble in Verdaccio, using your choice of recommended images. ( This will be glazed in colored oils at a later date)(Above materials will be paid for by Cary Fine Arts for the first 3 projects)
Photoshop composition class to help create the best size and layout for each future project. Students can use there own photos, Old Master’s images, or Studio Photo shoot Images of costumed models.)
- Project 4: Prepare a Masonite Panel for Classical Academic Painting. First Panel is supplied by Cary Fine Arts, student provides the 8 coats of Gesso.
- Project 5: Transfer a 21 value-pattern, using either a grid or transfer paper, to the panel.
- Project 6: Complete a value study of using charcoal, ink, and Tinted Bonded-Marble.
- Project 7: Using an Oil Verdaccio Palette, the student will paint over all the skin surfaces of their study, to acquire a porcelain-like finish.
- Project 8: Students will use their Frank Covino’s Renaissance Medium to glaze colored oils over their finished underpainting.

- Project 9: Finding display opportunities, creating a niche market, & marketing products.
- Project 10: Setting up and painting a still-life.
- Project 11: Setting up and painting from a live model.
- Project 12: Setting up and photographing a live model in costume.
- Student will now be ready to explore painting people, places, or things. Student will work to create 30 pieces of original work to be submitted to galleries, juried shows, and to create an on-line gallery. On-going critiques, training, and observation during the process.
- Project 13: Color charts will be created that will allow student to reproduce any color in nature, using just 10 hues, with 9 values, and 3 intensities.
